RNC Issue Driving Suspension, Impound Vehicle in Metro

(St. John’s, NL), August 11, 2023 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) issued a driving suspension and impounded a vehicle following a traffic safety stop last night.

RNC Operational Patrol Services (OPS) conducted a traffic stop on the Trans-Canada Highway, near Allandale Road, on Thursday, August 10, at 9 pm. Upon identifying the operator of the vehicle, the patrol officer launched an investigation into impaired operation of a motor vehicle.

As a result of an investigation into the event, the 32-year-old male operator was issued a 7-day driving suspension in relation to operation of a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol in excess of the provincial limit under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA). The vehicle was impounded from the site of the traffic stop.
