RNC Issue Driving Suspension Due to Excessive Speed

(Corner Brook, NL) September 28, 2021 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Corner Brook Region has suspended a driver from driving due to excessive speed in the Corner Brook area.

On September 27, 2021 at 9:40 p.m. RNC Patrol Services conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle on the Trans-Canada Highway near Riverside Drive off ramp (Exit 7) after officers observed the vehicle driving 160 km/h in a 100 km/h zone in the eastbound traffic lane.

The driver, a 17 year old male from the Deer Lake region, was charged with Speeding In Excess of 51 km/h over the posted Limit under the Highway Traffic Act. The driver also received a 7 day driving suspension and the vehicle was impounded.
