RNC Investigating Suspicious Fire

(St. John’s, NL), January 8, 2018 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) General Investigation Unit (GIU) is investigating a property fire that occurred on Friday.

On Friday, December 22, 2017, at approximately 5:45 am officers with RNC’s Operational Patrol Services including Police Dog Services and Firefighters with the CBS Fire Department responded to a report of a recreational vehicle (RV) fire at a residence on Dominic Drive in Conception Bay South. The RV, which was parked on an empty residential lot at the time for the fire, was completely destroyed by the fire.

Investigators noted that footprints were seen in the snow headed to and from the RV toward Peacekeeper’s Way. Fire Investigators believe the circumstances of this fire are suspicious in nature and are asking anyone who has any information or who may of witnessed suspicious activity in the area to call police. Furthermore, anyone who may have dash cams and would have driven on Peacekeepers Way between 5:00am and 6:00am on Friday morning to contact police.
