RNC Investigating Shooting Incident in St. John’s

(St. John’s, NL), June 1, 2023 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) is investigating after a shooting incident in St. John’s this morning.

On Thursday, June 1, 2023, at approximately 4:05 am, RNC Operational Patrol Services (OPS) responded to a report of a male with a gunshot wound at a residence on Barry Place in St. John’s. On arrival, officers located a 34-year-old male at the home with serious injury resulting from a gunshot. The injured male was transported to the Health Science Centre (HSC) to obtain medical attention.

The RNC Criminal Investigation Division (CID) is investigating this event and believe it to be a targeted attack. Investigators are seeking any information or video footage in the area around the time of the shooting. There have been no arrests made at this stage in the investigation.
