RNC Investigating Shooting

(St. John’s, NL) June 13, 2024 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) is investigating a shooting in St. John’s.

Shortly after 10 p.m. yesterday  (June 12), patrol officers located a female in the area of the Health Sciences Centre with serious injuries resulting from a gunshot. The female was taken to the hospital for treatment where she remains in stable condition. The RNC Major Crime Unit were engaged to investigate what happened.

Investigators believe the shooting occurred in the area of Empire Avenue West and Jensen Camp Road. Anyone with any information, including video footage (CCTV and dash-cam) from the area, and that of the Health Sciences Centre property between 9 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Wednesday is asked to contact the RNC at 709-729-8000.
