(St. John’s, NL), July 13, 2023 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Criminal Investigation Division (CID) is investigating an assault, which occurred in the west end of St. John’s yesterday evening.

On Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at approximately 7:25 pm, RNC Operational Patrol Services (OPS) received a report that a male with serious injuries required assistance in the area of Topsail Road at Columbus Drive in St. John’s. Responding officers located a 34-year-old male in the noted area with an injury requiring medical support. The male was transported to a hospital by ambulance department. Officers determined that the male was assaulted on Columbus Drive in the area of The Residence at Littledale, located between Bay Bulls Road and Topsail Road.

The RNC CID and Forensic Identification Services (FIS) were engaged to support the investigation into the assault. Investigators are seeking any information related to the event, including video footage in the area of Columbus Drive between Bay Bulls Road and Topsail Road from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, July 12.
