RNC Investigating Robbery at St. John’s Gas Station

(St. John’s, NL), June 28, 2021 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) General Investigation Unit (GIU) are investigating an armed robbery which occurred in St. John’s.

On Friday, June 25, 2021, shortly after 2:30 am, officers with the RNC Operational Patrol Services (OPS) and Forensic Identification Services (FIS) responded to a service station on Portugal Cove Road in St. John’s in relation to a report of an armed robbery which had just occurred. A lone suspect had entered the business and approached the cashier presenting a weapon, demanding cash. After obtaining some cash, the suspect exited the store and fled on foot. At this stage no arrests have been made in connection with this ongoing investigation.

The suspect is described to be a male of approximately 20 years of age. He is described to be about five feet and seven inches tall, and wore a black and grey hoodie, black pants, and white sneakers.
