RNC Investigating Robbery at Convenience Store in Metro

(St. John’s, NL), August 30, 2021 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) General Investigation Unit (GIU) are investigating an armed robbery which occurred in Logy Bay – Middle Cove – Outer Cove (LBMCOC).

On Sunday, July 25, 2021, shortly after 11:00 pm, officers with the RNC Operational Patrol Services (OPS) responded to a convenience store on Logy Bay Road in LBMCOC in relation to a report of a robbery which had just occurred. A lone suspect had entered the business and approached the cashier presenting a weapon, demanding cash. After the suspect was not successful in obtaining cash, they exited the store and left the area in what was described as a maroon or red coloured SUV.

The suspect is described to be a white male, tall and lean in stature, with light coloured hair and blue eyes. He wore a blue hoodie with “MARMOT” across the front, blue jeans, dark sneakers, and a skeleton design mask to cover his face.

The RNC GUI ask that anyone who may have information to assist the investigation, or with video footage in that area around the time of the incident, contact the RNC at 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). You can now provide information anonymously on the NL Crime Stoppers Website at www.nlcrimestoppers.com.
