RNC Investigating Motor Vehicle Collisions

(St. John’s, NL), December 17, 2018 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Operational Patrol Services Division is investigating several “hit and run” motor vehicle collisions involving the same truck this morning in St. John’s.

This morning, just after 8:30am, the RNC was called to the downtown area of St. John’s after receiving a report that a pickup truck had collided with a vehicle on Ordnance Street and failed to stop. The driver of the other vehicle involved followed the pickup truck toward Gower Street where the driver struck a second vehicle. Within minutes, the same pickup truck was reported to have been involved in a third collision and again, failed to remain at the scene.

Police have not identified the male driver of the pickup truck as the license plate was covered with snow. Witnesses provided several photos of suspect vehicle. The truck, a grey Ford F-150, likely has damage to the front bumper. The pickup also has a dent on the tailgate under the Ford emblem, which is not related to either of these collisions.

Anyone who witnessed either of these three collisions or who has dashcam footage is asked to call the RNC at 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). You can now provide information anonymously on the NL Crime Stoppers Website at: www.nlcrimestoppers.com.

Please see attached photos of suspect vehicle.
