RNC Investigating Incident of Shots Fired in St. John’s

(St. John’s, NL), May 29, 2023 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) is investigating after an incident of shots fired in St. John’s last night.

On Sunday, May 28, 2023, at approximately 11:05 pm, RNC Operational Patrol Services (OPS) and Police Dog Service (PDS) responded to a report of shots fired outside of a residence located on Portugal Cove Road, in the area of Elizabeth Avenue, in St. John’s. Responding officers confirmed gunshots caused damage to a vehicle parked in front of a home in the area. There were no injuries reported in connection with this event.

The RNC Criminal Investigation Division (CID) are investigating this event and believe it to be a targeted attack. Investigators are seeking any information or video footage in the area around the time of the shooting. There have been no arrests made at this stage in the investigation.
