RNC Investigating Fatal Collision in Metro

(St. John’s, NL), April 4, 2022 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Accident Investigation Division is investigating a fatal collision which occurred on Pitts Memorial Drive.

On Sunday, April 3, 2022, at approximately 12:45 am, RNC Operational Patrol Services (OPS) responded to a report of a serious motor vehicle collision on Pitts Memorial Drive in Mount Pearl. Responding officers arrived at the scene of the collision on Pitts Memorial Drive, between Richard Nolan Drive and Ruth Avenue exits, confirming two vehicles were involved in the collision. Officers observed a black Ford pickup truck and a black GMC Terrain, which had sustained significant damage. St. John’s Regional Fire Department (SJRFD) and paramedics were on the scene.

The operator of the black GMC Terrain, 42-year-old Bradley Kerrivan from St. John’s, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The operator of the Ford pickup truck, a 23-year-old male from Conception Bay South (CBS) was transported to the Health Sciences Centre to be treated for serious injuries. There were no other occupants of these vehicles.

The RNC Accident Investigation Division are actively investigating this event, and seek anyone who has information to assist, or any video footage in the area.

The RNC sends deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
