RNC Investigating Disturbance in City Center

(St. John’s, NL), October 21, 2020 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Major Crime Unit (MCU) is investigating following a disturbance on Spencer Street in St. John’s on Wednesday morning.

On Wednesday, October 21, 2020, at approximately 9:30 am, members of the RNC Operational Patrol Services (OPS) responded to a report of a disturbance on Spencer Street in St. John’s. Subsequent to arrival, a man in the area was taken to the hospital to be treated for serious injuries. Forensic Identification Services (FIS) and investigators with MCU attended the scene.

Officers maintained a presence in the area to contain a crime scene, gather evidence, and canvass the area. It remains early in the investigation, and the RNC will update the community with any concerns related to public safety once that information becomes available.
