RNC Investigating Break and Enters in Metro

(St. John’s, NL), February 19, 2021 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) General Investigation Unit (GIU) are investigating a pair of break and enters which occurred early Wednesday morning in the metro region.

On Wednesday, February 17, 2021, just before 4:00 am, members of the RNC Operational Patrol Services responded to a convenience store on Main Road in Goulds in relation to an alarm signal. On arrival, officers confirmed a break and enter had occurred with forced entry. It was determined a vehicle was used to flee the area.

At approximately 4:30 am, the RNC received another request for assistance related to an alarm, this time at a service station on Torbay Road in St. John’s. It was confirmed that a break and enter had occurred by forced entry, and once again, a vehicle was used to flee the scene.

The RNC GIU believe these events are linked, and request the assistance of the community to gather any information to assist the investigation. Both break and enters involve three suspects accessing the establishments by force, one of which could be captured by surveillance video. Please view the attached photo of one of the suspects, believed to be a man, wearing a green camouflage style jacket.

Investigators ask that anyone with information, or with CCTV or dash camera footage in the area of these incidents, please contact the RNC at 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). You can now provide information anonymously on the NL Crime Stoppers Website at www.nlcrimestoppers.com.
