RNC Investigating Attempted Break and Enter in St. John’s

(St. John’s, NL), November 3, 2021 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Major Crime Unit (MCU) are investigating an attempted break and enter and a potential weapons offence in St. John’s.

On Tuesday, November 2, 2021, shortly after 4:00 pm, officers with the RNC Operational Patrol Services (OPS) responded to a residence on Freshwater Road in St. John’s following a report of an attempted break and enter at the location. On arrival, officers contained the area and gathered information related to the event.

At approximately 5:30 pm, officers were called to a potential weapons offence at the same residence on Freshwater Road. Responding officers contained the area, and RNC Police Dog Service (PDS) attended the scene to assist in the investigation.

There have been no arrests related to these events as the investigation is ongoing. Investigators believe these incidents to be targeted.
