RNC Investigating Armed Robbery at Pharmacy

(St. John’s, NL), April 13, 2020 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) is actively investigating an armed robbery which occurred at a pharmacy in the East end of St. John’s.

On Thursday, April 8, 2020, just before 2:00 pm, the RNC Operational Patrol Services Division (OPS) responded to a report of an armed robbery at a pharmacy on Gleneyre Street in St. John’s. A man had reportedly approached the pharmacy counter and presented a weapon demanding narcotics. The man obtained medications in a duffle bag, then fled the store on foot.

After reviewing CCTV footage at a nearby business, the suspect was seen exiting a black Dodge RAM 1500 pickup truck in the Fall River Plaza parking lot on Torbay Road, and can be seen returning to the vehicle following the incident. The suspect is a man wearing a blue mask over his face, with a grey hoodie, blue jeans and blue sneakers.

The RNC General Investigation Unit is actively investigating this incident, and ask anyone who can provide any information which may assist the investigation, or has CCTV or dash camera footage in the area, to contact the RNC at 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
