RNC Investigating After Fatal Collision in Labrador West

(Labrador City, NL), July 26, 2023 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Accident Investigation Division are investigating a fatal collision, which occurred in Labrador West on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at approximately 8:10 pm, RNC Operational Patrol Services (OPS) responded to a single-vehicle collision on the Trans-Labrador Highway, 10 kilometers West of Churchill Falls. Responding officers located the vehicle involved off the road in a ditch area. A male operator was the single occupant of the vehicle. The 50-year-old male from Goose Bay was confirmed to be deceased at the scene.

The RNC Accident Investigation Division (AI) have been engaged to investigate the event, and request any witness information or video footage in the area of Trans-Labrador Highway around the time of the collision shortly before 8:00 pm on Tuesday.

The RNC sends its sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
