RNC Execute Warrant For Theft In Metro

(St. John’s, NL), August 16, 2021 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Operational Patrol Services (OPS) arrested a woman on Saturday in connection with two separate incidents in the metro region.

On June 28, 2021, the RNC received a report of a theft that occurred at a west end business in St. John’s. A female suspect concealed products from the business and proceeded to exit the store. The investigating officer identified the suspect using CCTV footage. The officer also confirmed the suspect to be in breach of court orders at the time of the offence. An arrest warrant was later issued for the accused, a 33-year-old woman from St. John’s, for theft and breach of court orders, as officers were not able to locate the individual.

On Saturday, August 14, 2021, at approximately 7:25 pm, RNC OPS responded to a disturbance in the downtown area of St. John’s. On arrival, officers detained a woman involved in the event. The woman was identified and officers were able to confirm that an arrest warrant was in effect in relation to the previously mentioned theft. The 33-year-old woman was charged with assault and breach of court orders in connection with the disturbance in downtown St. John’s on Saturday. She was held to appear in court on both matters.
