RNC Drug Unit Seize Quantity of Illicit Drugs

(St. John’s, NL), December 7, 2022 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Drug Investigation Unit (DIU) with assistance of postal inspectors with Canada Post seized a quantity of drugs during a drug trafficking investigation.

On Thursday, November 24, 2022 the RNC drug investigation unit executed multiple search warrants resulting in the seizure of 7.5 kilograms of cocaine along with $8000 in Canadian currency and other drug paraphernalia.

As a result of this investigation the RNC drug investigation unit have arrested three individuals: a 29-year-old male, a 26-year-old female and a 25-year-old female all from the Northeast Avalon. The three were arrested and released as the investigation continues.

The approximate street value of the seized cocaine is in excess of $400,000.
