RNC Corner Brook Region Make Arrest in Armed Robbery Investigation

(CORNER BROOK, NL) – April 30, 2018 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Corner Brook Region have arrested a male for armed robbery.

On Saturday, April 28, at approximately 12:20 pm officers with Operational Patrol Services, Forensic Identification Services, Police Dog Services and Criminal Investigation Division responded to a report of an armed robbery at Ultramar on Mount Bernard Avenue. It was reported that a masked man entered the business, approached staff with a weapon and stole an undisclosed quantity of cash.  Staff were not injured as a result of the incident and the male fled on foot prior to police arrival.

A short time later, at approximately 12:32 pm, on Saturday, April 28 officers with Operational Patrol Services arrested and charged Randy Biggin, a 24 year old male resident of Corner Brook, with Armed Robbery, Disguised with Intent and Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose.  Mr. Biggin appeared in Provincial Court today, and is being held in custody until his next court appearance on May 2.

The RNC Criminal Investigation Division is continuing its investigation into this incident.
