(Corner Brook, NL) – May 10, 2018 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Corner Brook Region have arrested and charged an adult male in relation to a sexual assault.

On Sunday, May 6, 2018 officers with RNC Operational Patrol Services and the Criminal Investigation Division responded to a report of a sexual assault in the Corner Brook area. It was reported that an adult male had sexually assaulted a youth; the accused and youth are known to each other.

As a result of the investigation, on Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at approximately 8:15 am officers with Operational Patrol Services and Criminal Investigation Division arrested and charged a 34 year old male resident of Corner Brook with one count of each: Invitation to Sexual Touching, Sexual Interference, and Sexual Assault, as well as three counts of Luring a Child by Means of a Computer. The accused has been held in custody and will appear in Provincial Court today.
