RNC Corner Brook Make Multiple Arrests for Impaired Driving

(Corner Brook, NL), December 1, 2021 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) in Corner Brook made multiple arrests for impaired driving over the weekend.

In a four-hour timeframe from late Saturday night, November 27, 2021, in to the early hours of Sunday, November 28, 2021, officers of the RNC Operational Patrol Services in Corner Brook conducted traffic safety stops in the area, which resulted in four arrests in connection with impaired operation of a motor vehicle.

In two of the cases, the operators were issued a seven-day suspension of their driver’s license, and their vehicles impounded, in relation to impaired operation of a motor vehicle under the Highway Traffic Act. In the other two cases, the operators were arrested and charged with impaired driving related offences under the Criminal Code of Canada, their driver’s license suspended for 90 days, and their vehicles were impounded from the scene. The two accused individuals were released to appear in court on a later date.

As we enter the holiday season, the RNC is stressing the dangers of getting behind the wheel while impaired by alcohol or drug. It is imperative that you plan your ride ahead of time if you with be consuming alcohol or cannabis. Lives depend on it.
