RNC Continue to Identify and Enforce Off-Road Vehicle Infractions

(St. John’s, NL) September 26, 2024 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) is urging the public to report unsafe driving behaviours directly to police.

A 15-year-old Conception Bay South male had his dirt bike impounded and was issued Summary Offence Tickets for stunting and operating an off-road vehicle on a highway without supervision on Monday (Sept. 23).

Operational Patrol Services officers observed three dirt bikes driving recklessly in the area of Legion Road just before 6 p.m. As they activated their emergency lights to perform a traffic stop, two drivers fled the scene. The driver who stopped for officers was identified in a video previously submitted to police.

The priority of the RNC remains the safety of all road users. Anyone with information about dangerous driving is asked to call 911. To report anonymously, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), or visit www.nlcrimestoppers.com.
