(St. John’s, NL), September 2 2021 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Criminal Investigation Division (CID) Major Case Management Team are continuing the investigation in to a homicide, which occurred on the evening of August 26, 2021.

Investigators with the RNC CID Major Case Management Team continue their work to gather information related to the homicide of 49-year-old James CORCORAN of St. John’s. The RNC sends deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased at this difficult time.

Although a charge of second degree murder has been laid against 28-year-old Lorraine OBED in connection with this homicide, investigators continue to seek any information related to the event. The RNC CID are requesting dash camera, CCTV, cell phone footage, or any witness information from the area of Carter’s Hill around 6:30 pm on August 26, 2021.

Furthermore, the Major Case Management Team are interested in making contact with the occupants of a red GMC Terrain SUV, which was captured on CCTV footage in the area around the time of the incident. Please contact the RNC at 729-8000 with any information related to the vehicle captured in the attached photographs.
