RNC Arrest Man After Disturbance

(ST. JOHN’S, NL), January 2, 2019 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Operational Patrol Services Division has arrested a man following a disturbance in Conception Bay South (CBS).

Yesterday morning, just after 7:00 am, the RNC’s Operational Patrol Services Division and Police Service Dog responded to a service station on CBS Highway, CBS, regarding a report of a disturbance between a man and a woman inside the store. Witnesses reported that the man and woman had left the area in a vehicle prior to police arriving on scene.

A short time later, members of the RNC located the woman involved in the earlier incident at her residence. A man was observed fleeing on foot from the rear of the home. The man was taken in to custody by Operational Patrol Services Division in the area of Topsail Road, CBS.

As a result of the investigation in to this incident, a twenty seven year old man has been charged with assault with a weapon causing bodily harm, robbery, dangerous driving, breaching an emergency protection order, and numerous other criminal code and traffic offences.
