RNC Arrest Impaired Driver in Corner Brook

(Corner Brook, NL), July 5, 2022 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Operational Patrol Services (OPS) arrested an impaired driver in Corner Brook overnight.

Shortly after midnight, in to July 5, 2022, RNC OPS observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed in the area of Griffin Drive, Corner Brook. Officers conducted a traffic safety stop with the vehicle a short time later. After addressing the operator of the vehicle, the officer initiated an investigation related to impaired driving.

As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old male form Benoit’s Cove has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and impaired operation of a motor vehicle with over 80 mg of alcohol. His driver’s license was suspended, and the vehicle was towed form the scene. The operator was also issued a summary offence ticket for speeding. The accused was released from custody to appear in Provincial Court on a later date.
