RNC Arrest Impaired Driver In CBS

(St. John’s, NL), September 2, 2021 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Operational Patrol Services (OPS) arrested an impaired driver after conducting a traffic safety stop in Conception bay South (CBS) last night.

On Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at approximately 11:00 pm, RNC OPS conducted a traffic safety stop with a vehicle in the area of Foxtrap in CBS. A short time later, patrol officers placed the operator of the vehicle under arrest in relation to impaired operation of a motor vehicle.

As a result of an investigation in to the event, a 59-year-old male from CBS has been charged with impaired driving and impaired driving over 80 mg. He was also issued summary offence tickets for operating a motor vehicle without an insurance policy and failure to transfer ownership of the vehicle. The vehicle was seized and impounded from the scene. The accused has been released to appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
