Pre-PARE: Test Your Fitness to Join the RNC

(Corner Brook, NL), May 27, 2024 – Members of the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary’s (RNC) Recruiting Unit will be in Pasadena next week.

Those interested in an exciting career in policing in their home province are being encouraged to sign-up to get a first look at the physical demands of police work through the Physical Abilities Requirement Evaluation (PARE). The PARE is a fitness test performed as part of the RNC application and screening process.

Those in Western Newfoundland who wish to participate in the Pre-PARE on June 3 should email: rncrecruiting@rnc.gov.nl.ca to reserve their one hour timeslot.

Recruiters will be onsite reviewing applications in-person and will be available to answer questions from hopeful applicants wishing to give back to their home communities through the rewarding job of policing.

Successful candidates will attend the Atlantic Police Academy for 36 weeks beginning in January 2025. Graduates may be assigned to serve any existing regions (Northeast Avalon, Corner Brook, Labrador West, Churchill Falls) of the RNC or any other location that, in the future, may be within the jurisdiction of the RNC.

For more information about the application process visit www.rnc.gov.nl.ca/join.
