No Injuries in Corner Brook Fire

(Corner Brook, NL) June 27, 2024 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) is investigating a fire in Corner Brook.

Emergency crews responded to a home on Clarence Street around 7:45 p.m. yesterday (June 26). The fire caused extensive damage to the home, and minor exterior damage to a neighbouring home and garage. All occupants were able to evacuate without injury.

Investigators do not believe the fire to be suspicious as it is believed the fire originated from a barbeque.

The RNC is reminding all those lighting up the grill this summer to do safely by:

  • Keeping your barbeque three feet away from your house
  • Keeping your grill clean
  • Never leaving your grill unattended
  • Having access to a fire extinguisher.
