Multiple Impaired Drivers Charged by Corner Brook RNC

(Corner Brook, NL) October 11, 2024 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) has charged two people with impaired driving following separate incidents this week in the Corner Brook region.

Around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday (Oct. 9), Operational Patrol Services responded to a single-vehicle collision on the North Shore Highway in Gillams where a vehicle was found in a ditch. As a result, an elderly man was charged with impaired driving and refusing the breathalyzer and issued a Summary Offence Ticket for having open liquor in the vehicle. He also had his license suspended and vehicle seized.

Just before 3 a.m. Thursday (Oct. 10), officers conducted a traffic stop on O’Connell Drive in Corner Brook. A 23-year-old female was charged with impaired driving and impaired over 80 MG%. She too had her vehicle seized, and license suspended.
