Man Charged with Sexual Assault

(St. John’s, NL) September 26, 2024 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) has charged a St. John’s man following a sexual assault in April.

On April 29, Operational Patrol Services received a report that a woman had been sexually assaulted in the west end of the capital city. The Child Abuse and Sexual Assault (CASA) Unit was engaged to investigate.

Forty-year-old Geoff Evely was charged yesterday (Sept. 25) with sexual assault and will appear in Provincial Court today.

The CASA Unit investigates the most sensitive of matters which include assaults against children and sexual assaults. All survivors of sexual violence are encouraged to reach out for help from a trusted resource as soon as it is safe to do so. If you require immediate assistance, please call 911.
