Impaired Driver Arrested on Pitts Memorial Drive

(St. John’s, NL), August 31, 2022 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Operational Patrol Services (OPS) arrested a female in relation to impaired driving yesterday.

On Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at approximately 1:30 pm, RNC OPS conducted a traffic safety stop with a vehicle on Pitts Memorial Drive near Kilbride. After addressing the vehicle, the patrol officer believed the operator to be impaired by alcohol.

As a result of an investigation, a 24-year-old female from Portugal Cove – St. Philip’s was arrested and charged with impaired driving offences, her driver’s license was suspended, and the vehicle was impounded from the scene. The accused was released to appear in Provincial Court on a later date.
