Impaired Charges Laid in Vehicle-Pedestrian Collision

(St. John’s, NL) October 9, 2024 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) has filed impaired driving charges following a vehicle-pedestrian collision in St. John’s.

At approximately 6:30 a.m. Sept. 8, Operational Patrol Services and RNC collision analysts, responded to a collision on Kenmount Road at Polina Road. Responding officers determined that a grey, four-door, Honda Civic had struck a man leaving him with serious injuries.

The RNC has entered charges against the 27-year-old male driver who was visiting the province from Ontario. He has been summonsed on charges of:

  • impaired driving causing bodily harm,
  • impaired at 80 MG% causing bodily harm,
  • dangerous operation causing bodily harm, and will appear in Provincial Court in St. John’s Nov. 15.

The injured pedestrian continues to receive medical care for his injuries.
