Charges Upgraded in Relation to Collision in St. John’s

(St. John’s, NL) August 26, 2024 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) have now charged a woman with murder in connection with a motor vehicle collision resulting in the death of a man in St. John’s.

On Saturday (August 24), the 41-year-old man who had suffered serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle in the Golf Avenue area of St. John’s on Friday (August 16) succumbed to the injuries. He was pronounced deceased at approximately 5:30 a.m. on Saturday.

The accused, a 36-year-old woman from St. John’s is now charged with second-degree murder, as well as dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death and failure to remain at the scene of a motor vehicle collision. She remains in custody and has appeared in Provincial Court in relation to the upgraded charges.
