Accused in Custody After East End Altercation

(St. John’s, NL), May 12, 2022 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Operational Patrol Services arrested a male after responding to a disturbance in east end St. John’s yesterday.

On Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at approximately 7:40 pm, RNC Operational Patrol Services (OPS) responded to a residence located in the east end of St. John’s in relation to a report of an assault that had just occurred. On arrival, officers located a male outside the residence who was believed to be involved in an altercation inside the home. The male was taken in to custody without incident.

As a result of an investigation in to the event, a 22-year-old male from St. John’s was charged with assault, uttering threats and causing a disturbance. The accused was held in custody to appear in Provincial Court.
