RNC Lay Impaired Driving Charge in Relation to ATV Collision

(Labrador City, NL) – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) charged a male with impaired driving in relation to an ATV collision in June.

On Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at 10:51 p.m. RNC Operational Patrol Services (OPS) in Labrador City responded to a reported single vehicle ATV collision on Bartlett Drive in Labrador City. The driver of the ATV was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threating injuries. The heavily damaged ATV was towed from the scene.

A forensic laboratory examination was conducted and returned results showing the male had just over double the legal limit of alcohol in his system at the time of the collision. The operator of the ATV, a 30-year-old male, was charged on Saturday (October 5) the with impaired driving and driving over the legal limit. He was released to appear in court at a later date.
