RNC Investigating Animal Cruelty Case

(St. John’s, NL), May 16, 2017 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Patrol Services Division is investigating an animal cruelty case in Conception Bay South.

On Sunday, May 14, 2017 at 11:30am, RNC Patrol Services Division responded to a report that a CBS resident found the remains of a dog submerged in a small salt water pond off of Pond Road in CBS. The body of the dog was recovered with the assistance of the CBS Fire Department. The dog, in advanced stages of decomposition, was found to have twine around its legs.

The animal remains are currently being examined by the office of the Chief Veterinarian and this matter remains under investigation.
