UPDATE: RNC Investigating Collision on Pitts Memorial Drive

(St. John’s, NL), June 9, 2017 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) has laid criminal charges in relation to a motor vehicle collision which occurred on Pitts Memorial Drive on Monday, March 20, 2017.

At approximately 10:30 am on March 20, 2017 members of the RNC Patrol Services Division, Accident Investigation Section and Forensic Identification Services responded to a report of a collision on Pitts Memorial Drive near the exit ramp to the eastbound Trans-Canada Highway. Upon arrival officers determined that a two-door red Honda Civic, which was travelling westbound, had been involved in a single vehicle rollover. The male driver of the vehicle and a female passenger were both transported to hospital as a result of their injuries. The male and female are residents of Conception Bay South and Mt. Pearl respectively and are both 21 years old.

On May 15, 2017, the 21 year old driver of this vehicle was charged with Dangerous Driving Causing Bodily Harm. He will appear in Provincial Court in St. John’s on June 16, 2017.
