The RNC Major Crime Unit is providing new information on the timeline around Cortney LAKE’s disappearance on June 7, 2017. New CCTV (Closed-circuit television) footage from a residence on Wellington Crescent has been obtained by investigators in recent days. The video shows what we now believe is the last known images of Cortney LAKE before all connectivity with her phone and social media discontinued.
On Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at 3:07 PM, LAKE was seen in CCTV footage (previously released to the media) at the Esso on Anderson Ave. We have learned through interviews with witnesses that she spent the afternoon with friends and family and was later dropped off at her home on Wellington Cres in Mount Pearl. Newly obtained footage of LAKE shows her walking on Wellington Cres away from her home toward the area of Lindbergh Crescent/Ruth Ave at exactly 7:52 PM.
We are asking ALL residents and businesses in that area, primarily the following streets; to review any CCTV camera footage they may have shortly after 7:52 PM on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 for Cortney LAKE:
- Lindbergh Crescent
- Ruth Avenue
- Michener Ave (and neighborhoods)
- Old Placentia Road
At the time of her disappearance, LAKE was wearing a grey parka with a pink liner (or hoody) inside, plaid shirt and black pants and wearing glasses. LAKE is describes as being 5’8” and 110-120lbs with light brown hair.
