RNC Investigating Armed Robbery

(St. John’s, NL), October 20, 2017 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) General Investigation Unit is seeking the public’s assistance identifying the man responsible for an armed robbery at a jewelry store.

Yesterday afternoon, at approximately 4:30pm, officers with RNC’s Patrol Services Division and Forensic Identification Services responded to a report of an armed robbery at Charm Diamond Center in the Village Shopping Center in St. John’s. Staff reported that shortly before 4:30pm a lone man wearing a motorcycle helmet entered the store carrying a firearm and demanded jewelry. The man fled the store with an undisclosed but amount of merchandise having significant value. Nobody was injured during the commission of the offence.

The man is described as being 5’7”-5’10” average build and is believed to be Caucasian. At the time of the robbery he was wearing dark baggy clothes and a motor cycle helmet.

Investigators are keen to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the offence or the man coming or leaving the area on the motor cycle. Additionally, anybody who has dash cam in their vehicle and was in the west end of St. Johns/Kilbride area is asked to review their footage and look for Motor Cycle between 4:00pm and 5:00pm.
