(ST. JOHN’S, NL), December 12, 2017 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) is pleased to advise the media and members of the general public of the newest addition to the RNC, Police Service Dog (PSD) AVALON.

PSD AVALON is the fourteenth Police Service Dog for the RNC and is a two year old pure bred German Shepherd. His handler is Constable Jody Ryan who has more than ten years policing experience.  PSD AVALON’s parents are from the RCMP breeding program. He is following in his family’s footsteps as he is the nephew of Constable Ryan’s former police service dog, BIFF.

The RNC would like to thank Crombie REIT (Avalon Mall) and the Avalon Mall Merchants Association for their generosity in making this newest addition to the RNC family possible.

The RNC wishes PSD AVALON all the best in his new career.
