(Labrador West, NL) – April 6, 2018 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Labrador West Region have arrested and charged an adult male in relation to a sexual assault.

On Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at approximately 3:30 pm officers with RNC Patrol Services responded to a report of a sexual assault in the Labrador City area. It was reported that an adult male had sexual assaulted a youth; the accused and youth are known to each other.

As a result of the investigation, on Thursday, April 5, 2018, at approximately 3:00 pm a 19 year old male resident of Labrador City was arrested and charged with Sexual Assault; he will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
