RNC Makes Arrest in Attempted Murder

(PARADISE, NL) May 5, 2018 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) arrested Raymond STACEY in relation to Attempted Murder in connection with a disturbance at a home in Paradise.

On Saturday, May 5, 2018, just before 1:00 pm, RNC Patrol Services Division, Criminal Investigation Division, and Forensic Identification Services responded to a report of a disturbance at a home in Paradise. A female was located in the home with multiple injuries and was brought to the hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

At approximately 1:00 pm, staff at a business on Topsail Road notified police regarding a suspicious male. The male fled on foot to a second business and attempted to flee in an occupied vehicle. The vehicle was involved in a collision. The male attempted to steal a second occupied vehicle before fleeing on foot. He was subsequently arrested behind a business on Topsail Road in Paradise.

At this time, Raymond STACEY is charged with Attempted Murder, Aggravated Assault, Assault with a Weapon, Robbery, Forcible Confinement, Theft of a Motor Vehicle, and Breaches of Court Order.
