Police Week 2018

(St. John’s, NL) May 11, 2018 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) will be participating in a variety of community events to celebrate Police Week, May 14-18, 2018.

Police week is a time to celebrate and recognize the important role that Police Officers play in the community. This year’s Police Week theme is “Celebrating Policing and Community Partnerships” as we highlight the importance of strong relationships with the community.

Some of the highlights of Police Week 2018 on the Northeast Avalon include:

 

  • Monday, May 14, 2018 – Official Launch of Police Week – Elaine Dobbin Center for Autism (11:00 a.m.)

 

  • Tuesday, May 15, 2018 – Job Shadow Day at the RNC – 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

 

 

  • Tuesday May 15, 2018 – RNC Volleyball Club Vs. Mount Pearl Senior High School 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.

 

 

  • Wednesday, May 16, 2018 – 20th Annual International Peace Officers’ Memorial Day Multi-denominational Service, Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 30 Aldershot Street, St. John’s, 11:00 a.m.

 

 

  • Thursday, May 17, 2018 – Official Launch of the 2018-2021 RNC Corporate Plan, RNC Provincial HQ, 10:00 a.m.

 

  • Thursday, May 17, 2018 – Chief of Police Citizen Recognition Awards, RNC Media Center (RNC Provincial HQ) – 2:00 p.m.

 

  • Thursday, May 17, 2018 – #ChiefChat with RNC Chief of Police Joe Boland, Facebook Live 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

 

  • Friday, May 18, 2018 – Crime Stoppers Police Officer of the Year Awards Ceremony, Manuals River Interpretation Center, CBS, 2:00 p.m.

 

Members of the media are invited to attend events during police week but are asked to RSVP with our Media Relations Officer.
