RNC Request Assistance in Armed Robbery Investigation

(St. John’s, NL), May 24, 2018 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Criminal Investigation Division is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the men responsible for an armed robbery in St. John’s.

On April 27th, 2018, at 11:36 pm, officers with the RNC’s Operational Patrol Services Division, Police Dog Services, and Forensic Identification Services responded to an armed robbery at Esso Service Station on Empire Avenue.  Two men entered the gas station and one man approached the cashier, while the second man remained in the open entrance.

The man at the cashier counter presented a weapon and demanded cash.  He is described as 5’7, slim build, with a thin black moustache. The second man was wearing a St. Louis Blues NHL logo toque, blue jeans and grey sneakers. The men fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The RNC Criminal Investigation Division is continuing to investigate this armed robbery, and is asking anyone who has information to call the RNC at 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
