(CORNER BROOK, NL) – August 6, 2018 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Corner Brook Region has arrested and charged two Corner Brook residents in relation to multiple commercial break and enters in the Corner Brook area.
On Sunday, August 5, 2018 at approximately 7:40 pm officers with Operational Patrol Services responded to a report of a break and enter on University Drive. Upon police arrival it was determined that forced entry had occurred. This break and enter is believed to have occurred on Sunday, August 5 at approximately 7:25 pm.
On Monday, August 6, 2018 at approximately 3:28 am while on general patrols in the Broadway area, officers with Operational Patrol Services observed a commercial break and enter in progress. As a result, a 13 year old male resident of Corner Brook and a 21 year old female resident of Corner Brook were arrested.
Through further investigation, officers with Operational Patrol Services determined that an additional three commercial break and enters had occurred in the Mount Bernard Avenue area sometime between the evening of Sunday, August 5, 2018 and 3:30 am on Monday, August 6, 2018. As a result, the 13 year old male resident of Corner Brook was charged with 4 counts of Break and Enter and two counts of Disguise with Intent; and the 21 year old female resident of Corner Brook was charged with 4 counts of Break and Enter. Both the male and female subjects have been released from police custody and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
