UPDATE: RNC Release Video of Armed Robbery

(St. John’s), August 17, 2018 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) General Investigation Unit is releasing video of an Armed Robbery at a business in St. John’s.

On Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at approximately 12:15 p.m., officers with RNC’s Operational Patrol Services Division, Criminal Investigation Division, and Forensic Identification Services responded to a report of Armed Robbery at Traders on Freshwater Road. Two males entered the business carrying firearms and one of the suspects approached staff and demanded jewelry. The suspects left with an undisclosed amount of jewelry.

The suspect who approached staff was described as approximately 5’8” with a slim build wearing a grey hoodie and dark track pants. The second suspect also wore a grey hoodie. At the time of the offence, the males were both masked and wearing gloves. Prior to police arrival, the suspects fled the area in a 2016 White Hyundai sedan, which had been reported stolen on August 1, 2018 and has since been recovered by police.
