RNC Corner Brook Region Arrest Two Youth for Assault

(Corner Brook, NL) – September 24, 2018 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Corner Brook Region have arrested and charged a female youth and a male youth in relation to an assault.

On Friday, September 21, 2018 at approximately 2:11pm officers with RNC Operational Patrol Services received a report of an assault which was alleged to have occurred on Wednesday, September 19, 2018.  It was reported that a 12 year old female youth had been assaulted in the Down Town area of Corner Brook. The female victim sustained non-life threatening injuries; the accused individuals and victim are known to each other.

As a result of the investigation, on Saturday, September 22, 2018, a 14 year old male resident of Corner Brook was arrested and charged with one count each of Forcible Confinement, Assault with a Weapon, Assault, Uttering Threats and Breach of Court Order.  The male youth was remanded to appear in Provincial Court today.  As well, on Sunday, September 23, 2018 a 14 year old female resident of Corner Brook was arrested and charged with one count of Forcible Confinement, two counts of Assault with a Weapon, and three counts of Assault.  The female youth is being held in custody and will appear in Provincial Court today.
