RNC Issue Public Advisory Regarding Stolen Narcotics

(ST. JOHN’S, NL), October 11, 2018 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) General Investigation Unit is issuing a warning to the public following an armed robbery that occurred at a Pharmacy in Conception Bay South.

Yesterday afternoon, just before 4:00 pm, officers with RNC Operational Patrol Services Division, Forensic Identification Services, Criminal Investigation Division, and Police Dog Services responded to Lawton’s Drugs on the CBS Highway in Conception Bay South. A lone male, armed with a weapon, entered the pharmacy and demanded prescription drugs. The man fled the area prior to police arrival with an undisclosed quantity of opioids, stimulants such as fentanyl patches, and other various prescription narcotics.

The RNC is warning the public that the use of any prescription drug outside the guidance of a medical practitioner could lead to serious illness or death.
