(CORNER BROOK, NL) – October 29, 2018 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Corner Brook Region is pleased to announce that a Corner Brook student and former graduate of the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) Program has been appointed Canadian Representative to the International D.A.R.E. Youth Advocacy Board.

Each year the RNC delivers the D.A.R.E. keepin’ it Real Elementary program to all Grade 6 students in our jurisdictions.  The D.A.R.E. keepin’ it Real program, is a 10 week educational program facilitated by police officers which teaches youth self-awareness, responsible decision making, understanding others, relationship and communication skills and handling responsibilities and challenges. Youth are taught how to make safe and responsible decisions which guide them to lead healthier and more productive drug-free lives.

The RNC Corner Brook Region is pleased to announce that this year Jenna Boardman, a grade 9 student at Corner Brook Intermediate and a former D.A.R.E. graduate has been appointed as the Canadian Representative to the International D.A.R.E.
