RNC Officers to be Recognized at Annual Atlantic Women in Law Enforcement Conference

(ST. JOHN’S, NL), November 1, 2018 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) is proud to announce that two of its officers will be recognized with prestigious awards at the Atlantic Women in Law Enforcement (AWLE) Conference in Moncton on November 6, 2018.

Constable Tammy Madden, a senior constable within the RNC Major Crime Unit has been named “Officer of the Year” by the AWLE and will receive the “Officer of the Year Award” next week. Cst. Madden has been recognized for her excellence in all four areas outlined by the AWLE: Leadership, Community Service, Mentoring, and Excellence in Performance. She is also very active within the Law Enforcement Torch Relay team, which raises money for Special Olympics Newfoundland and Labrador.

Constable Lindsay Dillon, a senior constable within the RNC Intimate Partner Violence Unit, will receive the AWLE’s “Mentoring and Coaching Award” for her work to support and assist women in law enforcement, development of programs and policies favorable to women, and for her work serving on committees and organizations that support women and girls in our communities.

The RNC is extremely proud of the accomplishments of both of these outstanding officers and is happy to see their work recognized by the AWLE. Both constables will travel to Moncton and represent the RNC at the AWLE Conference next week.
